The goal of this workshop is to discuss advancements in technology and applications in pre-clinical imaging.

Speakers:

17:10 – 17:30: Small Animal PET for Molecular Imaging in Pre-clinical Studies
Dr. Cristina Nanni (Universitaria of Bologna, Bologna, Italy) will discuss several applications of small animal PET. In addition, she will highlight the importance of selecting appropriate animal models and PET tracers.

17:30 – 17:50: Advancements in Pre-clinical PET Technology
Dr. Roger Lecomte (Université de Sherbrooke; Sherbrooke, Canada) will speak about advancements in pre-clinical PET technology and illustrate the impact of these advancements on small animal research.

17:50 – 18:10: First Steps with the eXplore speCZT CT 120
Dr. Philippe Choquet (Hôpital Universitaires de Strasbourg, Strasbourg, France) will present several studies highlighting the unique design of the eXplore speCZT CT 120. Applications will include dynamic, low radioactivity, and bone SPECT as well as cardiac gated CT.

18:10 – 18:30: MR Compatible PET and SPECT Imaging
Dr. Doug Wagenaar (Gamma Medica – Ideas, Northridge, USA) will discuss design and development of hybrid SPECT/MRI and PET/MRI imagers. The challenges and potential applications will be discussed.

18:30 – 18:40: Panel Discussion. Interactive discussion of all speakers with attendees.
