We are now accepting Scientific Abstract Submissions for the 2008 World Molecular Imaging Congress. Abstracts are limited to 300 words maximum (each table or graphic counts as 25 words towards the 300 word maximum). Acceptable graphic file types are limited to JPG or GIF. Graphic files should be large enough (or of high-enough resolution) to reproduce nicely in print publication. The meeting will embrace all aspects of Molecular Imaging: Preclinical and clinical translational molecular imaging Cross modality and multimodal imaging of biological processes Quantitative molecular imaging Advances in molecular imaging hardware design and probe development Application of molecular imaging to drug development
Abstract Submission Deadline is May 15, 2008. The following is a preliminary list of Abstract Categories: Advances in MR Probes Advances in Optical Probes Advances in PET/SPECT Probes Advances in US Probes Animal Models of Disease Cancer Detection Imaging Cancer Treatment Efficacy Cardiovascular Cellular Imaging and Trafficking Clinical Translation of Novel Oncologic Radiotracers Clinical Translational Molecular Imaging Imaging Cellular Stress Imaging DNA Repair Imaging Gene Expression Imaging in Drug Development Imaging in Neuroscience Imaging in Radiation Therapy New MR Instrumentation New Optical Instrumentation New PET/SPECT Instrumentation Novel Imaging for Clinical Studies Quantitation in Molecular Imaging Stem Cells and Tissue Regeneration Other |

The 2008 World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC 2008) will be held September 10-13, 2008 in Nice, France, and builds upon the success of the Joint Molecular Imaging Congress held in Providence in September 2007. Organizers decided on the name change in order to recognize our efforts of a truly global Program Committee and the diverse nationalities of our attendees. For instance, the following societies are included in the organization of this event: - Society for Molecular Imaging (SMI)
- Academy of Molecular Imaging (AMI)
- European Society of Molecular Imaging (ESMI)
- Federation of Asian Societies of Molecular Imaging (FASMI)
- International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM)
- Radiological Society of North America (RSNA)
- Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM)
The WMIC 2008 program will be constructed primarily on the strength of the submitted abstracts. In a new move, the Program Committee will be integrating many of these abstracts into special sessions that bring attendees from different disciplines together for a comprehensive examination of the role of molecular imaging in particular biomedical problems. This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) and the World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC). THe ISMRM is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. |
