POSTER-ONLY ABSTRACT EXTENSION SUBMIT NOW The WMIC 2009 Steering Committee has learned that a signficant number of researchers were unable to submit abstracts by the May 11 deadline due to time invested in applying for NIH challenge grants made possible by special US economic stimulus funds. To facilitate the involvement of these researchers, the Steering Committee has extended the deadline for submission of abstracts for poster-only presentations. Abstracts submitted between May 29 and June 23 (11:59 p.m. EST) will be peer-reviewed, and up to 10 will be awarded travel stipends. We are using a new submission system—Abstract Central, a ScholarOne product. The new system will function much like the system used for JMIC 2007 and WMIC 2008, with two major differences: - Abstract Central is configured to collect disclosures of financial relationships directly from each co-author. Every co-author will receive an email urging them to access the system and complete their disclosures. All co-authors MUST complete their disclosures in order for an abstract to be accepted for presentation. Accurately entering your co-authors’ email address is, therefore, critical.
- Abstract Central enables affiliation consistency and accuracy by requiring the submitting author to create affiliations first and then to add authors, selecting the proper affiliation for each author.
WMIC 2009 has arranged for Abstract Central to create an account for each submitting author who participated in previous WMIC, JMIC, or SMI conferences. Your Abstract Central User ID and Password should be the same as when using the previous abstract submission system.
WMIC 2009 will embrace all aspects of Molecular Imaging, and—except for the first day’s Educational Sessions—the program will be constructed almost entirely on the strength of submitted abstracts. To login to the Abstract Submission System, visit Abstract Central.
